Adobe has unveiled a new discount plan aimed at students for its Acrobat AI Assistant, a generative artificial intelligence tool integrated into the Acrobat platform. Previously available to all users since its launch in April, the tool is now being offered at a reduced rate for students, making it more accessible. This AI chatbot can read and interpret a wide range of compatible documents while providing responses and summarizing content for a quick understanding of various subjects. The AI Assistant is usable on mobile devices, desktops, and via the web interface.
In a recent announcement, Adobe revealed that students can now access the AI Assistant add-on for just $1.99 (approximately Rs. 166) per month. In contrast, the standard subscription runs at $4.99 (around Rs. 417) monthly. With this new pricing, the company has asserted that the affordable plan will enable students to conveniently search for information in their course materials, essays, lecture notes, research papers, and other supplemental documents.
The features of the Acrobat AI Assistant are quite versatile. It can create summaries of documents in outline form, allowing users to quickly review key points and thus saving valuable time. The chatbot can rephrase information into more digestible language and also present content as bullet points for better clarity.
One notable functionality of the AI Assistant is the Intelligent Citation feature. This allows it to generate clickable references that direct users back to specific paragraphs and sentences within the source material, helping students confirm the accuracy of the provided information and preventing potential misinformation.
The AI Assistant is designed to handle various file types simultaneously. Students can upload PDF documents, Word files, and PowerPoint presentations, enabling the chatbot to synthesize information from multiple sources and offer detailed insights. Furthermore, Acrobat's file conversion capabilities simplify the process by negating the need for manual conversion of different file formats individually.
Moreover, Adobe has indicated that it is working on a two-way voice interaction feature that will allow students to engage in verbal dialogue with the AI Assistant. This innovation will facilitate a more interactive and mobile-friendly study experience for students as they work with Acrobat.
