Sonic Superstars Gears up for October Debut, Sonic Frontiers September Release

Fans of Sonic the Hedgehog can mark their calendars for two upcoming events announced at tonight's Gamescom Opening Night Live, namely, the release dates for Sonic Superstars and a significant addition to Sonic Frontiers known as The Final Horizon. 

Sonic Superstars, a vibrantly colored throwback to Sonic's early side-scrolling platform adventure which now includes a four-player collaborative twist, will be released on October 17 for platforms including Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PC, and Switch. 

Prior to that, Sonic Frontiers – a fun but error-prone 3D spin on Sonic's platform gaming released last year– will roll out its third and final freebie update dubbed The Final Horizon on September 28. This addition introduces fresh story elements, the potential for new playable characters such as Tails, Knuckles, and Amy (as teased in today's trailer), along with new challenges. This follows a birthday themed update for Sonic Frontiers issued in June and a smaller update in March featuring a jukebox, photo mode, and new challenge modes.
